Privacy Policy

Receipt is a local-first Chrome extension that helps you track subscriptions you pay for, see whether you use them in the browser, and spot cancel candidates. Receipt Everywhere is an optional account and sync service for future mobile and cross-device use.

Receipt is designed to be local-first and privacy-first. We do not sell your data, run advertising profiles, or collect analytics about your browsing.

Data Stored Locally

Receipt stores the following data locally in Chrome and, when available, on your Apple device:

Standalone Receipt Chrome does not send your subscription list, prices, domains, or usage dates to its server.

Website Access And Usage Detection

Receipt uses browser extension access to detect when you use a subscription website you track.

The extension checks the URL of the visible browser tab after a short delay and matches it against the domains and path patterns of subscriptions you added. For example, if you track Netflix, Receipt can recognize a visit to a Netflix watch page and update the last-used date for that subscription.

Receipt does not read, collect, or store:

Receipt only uses the current page URL for matching tracked subscription websites.

Optional Receipt Everywhere Sync

If you explicitly create a Receipt Everywhere account and enable sync, Receipt sends only the data needed to keep your selected subscriptions consistent across connected devices: your account email and ID, device ID, platform and display name, subscription names and configuration, prices and billing cycles, and normalized usage observations (subscription ID, source, timestamp, and local calendar day).

Receipt Everywhere does not upload full browser URLs, browser history, page titles or contents, Screen Time reports, complete installed-app lists, opaque Apple activity tokens, passwords, or payment card data. Cloud data is stored in Supabase for the operation of the sync service.

Data Sent To Third Parties

Receipt uses Creem for Pro purchases and license validation.

When you buy Pro, checkout and payment are handled by Creem. Receipt does not receive or store your payment card details.

When you activate or revalidate a Pro license, Receipt sends the license key and license instance ID to Receipt's license endpoint at receipt.sandalow.net, which forwards the request to Creem to verify whether the license is valid.

Receipt does not send your subscription list, usage dates, or browsing activity to Creem.

When Receipt Everywhere is available for Apple platforms, Apple processes in-app purchase transactions. Receipt does not receive or store your payment card details.

Data Sharing

Receipt does not sell personal data.

Receipt does not share your subscription list, usage dates, or browsing activity with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers. Optional Receipt Everywhere cloud data is processed only to provide account, sync, and entitlement functionality.

Analytics And Tracking

Receipt does not include product analytics, telemetry, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts in the extension.

Data Deletion And Retention

You can delete local Receipt data from extension settings or by uninstalling the extension. Local data on another device is not deleted automatically.

Receipt Everywhere account controls let you export cloud data, pause sync, delete synced cloud data while keeping the account, or close the Receipt Everywhere account. Closing the account deletes its Receipt cloud data and account access after a fresh email-link confirmation. It does not cancel an App Store subscription, which must be managed through Apple.

Provider backups may retain deleted information for a limited technical recovery period. We do not use deleted account data for product analytics, advertising, or profiling.
